Ever got that feeling that just basic customer service doesn't exist anymore? Anywhere! Time and time again this fact is confirmed. Come on people if you work in a Bank you should be taught in at least telephone manners. In fact, it should come naturally. Standard Bank Walvis Bay, put me on hold for exaclty 14 min, transferring me to about 4 different people, even when I gave the name of the person I wanted to speak to right from the very start. They just answer the phone by hello or even talking in the background before speaking to you. I had to ask: " Is this Standard Bank? " Otherwise you wouldn't know. Apart from that, gettting information for the simplest of things, seems a major task for everyone I spoke to. Nobody could answer the questions I had. And at the end I ended the telephone coversation, frustrated, and not anymore informed than when I first made the call. Well done Standard Bank Walvisbay, you get the award for the worst customer service ever!

Gone are the days where there is only one of everything.... EVERYONE has competition these days so if they can't deliver the service you pay them for then simply move to another bank.
Chances are that you will get better rates on loans as you are an existing customer at a bank and they will WANT to show you that they are better.
