...here is a link to an IOL article posted today in which they speak of comments made on the PACs facebook page saying Kill the Fing Whites now httpwww.iol.co.zaindex.phpsetid1clickid13artidvn20100225122902306C730590The comments have actually been defended by the PAC, saying that removing them would take away the posters freedom of speech. BULLST Freedom of speech is a limited right and is not defendable if it infringes on someone elses rights. Comments on the page are clear examples of hate speech and should in no way be tolerated.Unfortunately it seems that in this day and age we are far too PC and people are so afraid of standing on a previously disadvantaged persons toes that they will allow a few of them to ruin the reputation of the rest that is right, I am not saying that all black people feel this way before I get accused of that, what I am saying though is that the leadership of the PAC have failed to show that they have the political will to back up their lofty mission statement and are allowing a few misguided individuals to ruin not only their, but every black person in South Africas, reputation much like the miguided members of organisations like the AWF do to white people when they say or do stupid misguided things. And yes, I realise that this is all happening in South Africa and therefore according to some has no bearing on Namibia but there I disagree, even if it were happening in Europe or America it would be worth highlightingI am not interested in arguments about, ja but you must remember in the past... This is not the past this is the here and now and if we continue to rely on the childish argument of so and so did this or that to me so I should get to do it to them we will never develop as a people And before you defend the PAC for not removing the comments just take a minute and imagine the amount of Holy Hell that would have been raised were the statement Kill the Fing Blacks Now

Fin24.com Money Clinic received this question from a userWhich of my debts should be paid off quicker Credit card, property loan, car, personal loan or overdraftA nobrainer, reckoned Ebie Visser of Debtdoc.co.za.Always pay off shortterm debt such as credit cards, loans and overdrafts with excess cash first, then vehicles and lastly property loans. Why Invariably your interest rates on shortterm debt will be much higher than longterm debt, making such debts much more expensive to service.Go through your statements to see what interest you are paying.Interest rates on credit cards of up to 24 are usually highest, and home loan up to 15 the lowest. The most effective way of tackling your debts is by targeting one at a time.Start by paying all the minimum monthly payments, but allocate an extra amount as much as you can afford to settle your debt with the highest interest rate. When youve paid off that debt, direct the monthly minimum payment of that debt plus the extra cash to the next priority the debt with the next highest interest rate.Tackling the debt with the highest interest rate will give you the most cost savings and pay off your debt faster with less money, said Colin Brazendale of Debt Counselling Help. But it may take a long time even years to pay off the debt with the highest interest rate, which many people find discouraging.Enter the socalled snowball effect. The snowball effect involves tackling the smallest debt first not the debt with the highest interest rate.It will take much quicker to pay of the first debt, which will give you a quick win and give you more confidence about tackling the rest.As you finish with one account, you roll over the money to the other accounts. This will keep you motivated, because your will see the number of accounts disappear faster, said Brazendale. However, the research still shows that, in the long run, tackling the highinterest debt first is more cost effective.ConsolidationMany people hope that debt consolidation will help to settle their debts.Debt consolidation usually means that you increase your home loan, or take out a new personal loan, to pay off your existing debts. Essentially, a lending institution will provide a homeowner with a home equity loan that will help consolidate his or her outstanding debts into one monthly payment, said Mark Fulton of National Consumer Relief. The homeowner can benefit from a lower overall interest rate and tax break however, many consumers financial situations worsen at this time, causing them to unfortunately lose their home. But if debt consolidation doesnt mean that you are paying less each month to settle your debts, it is not an effective option.Whatever approach you take make debt your priority. But dont borrow more money to settle a debt, said Fulton. All debts attract interest, penalty interest and legal costs when you default or skip payments. It is not advisable to pay Paul this month and then Peter next month, as the balance amount of your debt escalates in the defaulting month.Brazendale also warned that you should always pay off your debt before thinking about saving.Your best saving you can make is by paying off your debt first. The reason is that the interest on debt is much higher than savings accounts. So if you are paying 20 interest on your credit card and you make payment towards your debt, your are saving 20 per month taxfree. That is better than earning 10 and paying tax on the interest earned making the return less than 10.If your are already struggling to repay the minimum monthly amounts and have creditors breaking down the door, perhaps consider going for debt counselling.A debt counsellor will restructure your credit agreements so that they are more affordable, said Fulton.
Following a festive season that included way too many people being defrauded and robbed at ATMs in Namibia, the question needs to be posed who is responsible for your safety when using an ATMIs it the Shopping Centre in which the ATM is found is it the Security company contracted to ensure the safety of the people using the facilities on offer in the shopping centre is it the bank that owns and operates the machine you are transacting on or as all of the above will most likely try to tell you, is it you and you aloneThere is only so much an individual can do though to protect themselves at an ATM, you are inherently vulnerable with your back to the world, and while the ATM does supply a little mirror it only alerts you to a presence by the time it is too late for you to do antything about being surounded it becomes even more difficult when it is glaringly apparent that the security guards are in on the action and conveniatnly dissapear just before you are surrounded. It is impratical to have someone with you at all times to protect you at the ATM and the bank suggesting that you only use an ATM that is adjacent to a branch, therefore affording you greater protection takes away from the convenience promised by ATMs.As a customer, utilising a product offered by the banks and for which you pay you should be guarnteed protection, you should at the least be guaranteed that should something go wrong the bank has proceedures in place to limit your financial liability. This is unfotunatley not the case though and should you find yourself defrauded at an ATM through a straight out robbery or having your card cloned and used before you can cancel it the bank will not admit to any liability whatsoever. No matter how long you have been a client and how much you have paid for the service offered over the years you will see for a fact that to them you are nothing but another cash generating client, nothing but anouther faceless number they extract fees from

A recent conversation came up, and at the end of it, the debate was What is animal cruely. It came up when an acquaintance mentioned that he had been made aware of someone who kept a dog by the sounds of it, it isnt a small dog in the yard, but the dog wasnt given freedom to roam in the garden, as the owners have sectioned off a small area for the dog to live in. apparantly, there is a kennel in the said area, and the dog can get in and out of it and still have minimal space to stand. According to him, the dog seems to be well fed, but has to stay in this confinement as it doesnt get on well with their maltese poodle. My argument is that this is animal cruelty, as what is the dog there for then Not for companionship or protection as it probably cant get out of this sectioned area . what are your opinions

I just wonder if people who are suicidal think about the people they hurt around them in doing something like that. I dont say that someone who does something like this is a loser , I think it must take allot of guts and determination to do something like that. How gatvol should someone be to commit suicide , just think you sit with a weapon in your hand , you know if you pull the triger you will not exist anymore ....never ever , it scares the shit out of me just to think about it.

The time of month has once again come where we need to go do out grocery shopping. Im not one to moan about the costs of food, except when it comes to all poultry, fish and meat. Now I have finally found the best place to get all my fish products, Seawork. But I still dont know where I can get my poultry and meat. So can anyone advise on which butcheries are best in Windhoek, value for money, or other connections that you may have.
